A 33-year-old pilot is facing charges after he allegedly flew his employer's plane from California to Akron, Ohio to have sex with a minor, according to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.

Ryan Johnson of Camarillo, California, was taken into custody by Newburgh Heights police and the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on August 30.

Johnson landed his employer's plane in Akron and then drove a company rental car to Cuyahoga County to meet with a 13-year-old girl he had arranged to meet and have sex with, authorities said.

Police said during the course of their investigation they learned Johnson requested nude photos from the teen and "expressed an interest in meeting the child to engage in sexual activity in a hotel room."

According to authorities, Johnson was aware the girl was underage.

Johnson arranged the meeting to take place the day of a business trip he had in Ohio, police said.

When Johnson arrived at the predetermined meeting location, he sent a text to the phone he thought belonged to the girl.

He was arrested shortly after by authorities.  Police found two cell phones, two bottles of lubricant, three condoms and a hotel room key in his belongings.

Johnson was indicted on one count of importuning, one count of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of possessing criminal tools.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13 at 8:30 a.m.
