A man who allegedly threatened to shoot his sister and then attempted to run a police officer over has been captured.
Alphonso McPherson, 27, was taken into custody Saturday morning at an apartment building in Cleveland by U.S. Marshals.
Earlier this week a woman called police saying she was arguing with her brother who allegedly went into his room and brought out a handgun, loaded it, put it against her head and threatened to kill her.
Oakwood Village is located near Bedford and Bedford Heights.
The sister was able to escape to another room to call police, who arrived at the house on Wright Avenue as McPherson was backing out of the driveway. He accelerated his 2002 Silver Ford Taurus and allegedly attempted to run down an officer near the driver side of the patrol vehicle.
Officers fired four shots into the vehicle.
McPherson drove in and out of a ditch on the side of the street. Officers continued to pursue him through Bedford into Bedford Heights where he entered I-480 on the westbound ramp. Police say that during the pursuit he slowed down to the point of almost stopping and also accelerated to a speed of 90 mph.
Because of the road conditions and reckless driving of McPherson, officers called off the pursuit.
When McPherson was located, police found a gunshot wound in his arm. Authorities didn't confirm if it was caused by officers or if he received the injury in another incident.
