A store clerk was bitten by a shoplifter when he attempted to stop her from stealing liquor last week.

According to Westlake police, the incident happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Giant Eagle Liquor Agency, 30664 Detroit Road.

Police said the female suspect and two other males took bottles of Patron and Moet worth about $377. When the clerk tried to stop the woman, she bit him on the chest, police said.

The trio fled the scene in a 4-door sedan.

The same group is suspected of a similar theft at the same store on Nov. 18.

In the prior incident, the suspects took around $350 worth of tequila.

No one was bitten in the first incident, police said.
