INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — A portion of Independence will be without power through Thursday evening while crews work to repair downed power lines following a crash.
The crash happened Thursday around 9 a.m., according to Cuyahoga County’s Office of Public Safety and Justice Services.
As a precaution, First Energy has shut down the power grid on Brecksville Road between Chestnut and Rockside roads until repairs are completed.
Around 135 residents have been affected by the outage. Power is expected to be restored by 5 p.m. The outage will also affect the hotel, business and highway districts in Independence.
Power is expected to be restored at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities didn’t release any information regarding the crash.
