Rescue workers armed with rope pulled a teen 40 feet up a cliff Thursday, after he injured his head reportedly jumping backward into Chippewa Creek in the gorge at Metroparks Brecksville Reservation.
The 16-year-old boy was transported to a hospital, his condition is unknown, but he was conscious when fire crews arrived, according to the Brecksville Fire Department.
The teen and some friends jumped a fence and were in a designated non-swimming area when he attempted doing a backflip and hit his head at around 2:45 p.m., according to Metroparks.
Fire officials said it took 30 minutes to pull the teen out of the gorge.
