A fire broke out on the third floor of a Lake Avenue apartment building on Saturday afternoon, evacuating residents and sending plumes of smoke billowing into the air.
Cleveland fire said they requested more firefighters to the scene to battle the intense flames and toxic smoke that spread to other levels of the building.
Everyone was evacuated form the four-story building safely. The apartment is near Edgewater Park.
The blaze was upgraded to a second alarm fire, meaning additional units had to be requested. Fire officials have not given a cause for the blaze.
