PARMA, Ohio — Rusty, a 3-legged puppy mix brought to a Parma shelter from Georgia, was adopted just a day after the shelter announced he was looking for a home.

The 1-year-old lab mix was found on the road with only three legs. He is one of 3,000 animals that have been brought to the Northeast Ohio shelter. Rusty was rescued from a kill shelter and brought to Northeast Ohio SPCA, which is a no-kill shelter. Rusty was joined in his trip to Parma by six puppies and eight other adult dogs from Georgia.

On Dec. 27, the shelter said Rusty would be up for adoption within two days, and it didn’t take long for him to find a forever home.

The shelter said that Rusty was adopted Saturday.

While Rusty has found his forever home, other pets are still looking for theirs. To learn more about adopting an animal from Northeast Ohio SPCA, click here.
