SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — The South Euclid Police Department is investigating a case of animal cruelty after a dog was found very malnourished and painted pink.

Students at Notre Dame College discovered a dog running loose near College Road in South Euclid Sunday morning, police said.

Police took the dog in, fed him and attempted to remove the pink paint.

The department is now seeking information regarding the individual(s) who painted the dog in order to hold them accountable, police said.

Police said they would like to reunite the dog with its owner, granted the owner is not responsible for the malnourishment of the dog or painting it pink.

Anyone with information regarding the dog is asked to contact police at 216-381-1234
