Strongsville City Schools will be adding two additional resource officers to buildings in order to increase security as part of the district's overall safety plan.
The officers will be in place starting on April, 30.
The Strongsville Board of Education approved the additional security measures as a way to provide increased safety at the district's preschools and elementary schools, according to a school spokesperson.
Superintendent Cameron Ryba released the following statement:
“The safety of our students, teachers, staff, and administration throughout the District is our top priority. We appreciate our Board’s commitment and support in creating safe environments throughout our schools.We also are grateful for the Strongsville Police Department and their efforts to connect their officers with the students, teachers, and staff in our District."
