Suspect arrested blocks away from bank robbery

A man police said robbed a bank was arrested only blocks away, police said.

David Lee Chipps, 54, of Euclid, was arrested Dec. 16 near Dartworth Drive and Allenwood Drive in Parma. Police said he entered the Federal Savings and Loan on Ridge Road in Parma wearing a hat and sunglasses and demanded money. The teller gave him the money and did not see a weapon.

Police said that they spotted Chipps, who matched the suspect's description, several blocks away and arrested him. They recovered the stolen money.
