PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police responded to a standoff situation in Parma Heights on Saturday.
The Special Weapons and Tactics Unit was called to a home on Queens Highway near Snow Road around 3 p.m..
A landlord attempted to conduct a premise check and serve an eviction notice. Officers were called to the house and a woman who had felony warrants barricaded herself in the home, according to Parma Heights police.
While still in the home, police discovered weapons in a crevice in the attic of the home, where the woman is believed to be hiding, police said.
A 7-year-old child was in the home when officers arrived but is now safe with family, according to police.
Police were able to take the woman into custody more than four hours after the situation began.
The woman faces felony obstruction charges. Her husband also faces obstruction charges for lying to authorities, according to police.
