The Salvation Army opens registration for the Christmas Assistance Program for families in need

The holiday season is around the corner, and The Salvation Army is helping families in need make the holidays a little extra merry and bright.

Families with children 12 years old and younger can register for assistance at a Cleveland Salvation Army Corps to receive an assigned time to get toys and a Dave's Supermarket gift card. The toys and gift card will be given out at a later date.

This Christmas Distribution program helped over 1,400 families and almost 3,200 children. The Salvation Army is expecting to help 15,000 people in Greater Cleveland this December.

Registration will be held on the following days and times: 

  • Monday, November 6: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 7: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 8: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 9: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Anyone registering will need the following documentation:

  • Government issued photo I.D. or Driver's License. You must have a photo I.D.
  • Birth certificate or current medical benefit card for each child 12 years old and younger in your household.
