Two armed gunmen wearing masks broke into a duplex in University Heights Friday and tied up three contractors, police say.
According to police, it was not a random act.
University Heights police say the gunmen entered the duplex at Channing Road and Meadowbrook Boulevard just before 3 p.m. and tied up the three contractors — two women and a man — who have been renovating the home for the past few months.
According to police, one of the women was able to escape and used her car to drive to the Mr. Tire location on Warrensville-Center Road to get help.
Police said the male contractor was assaulted by the gunmen.
Investigators have not yet located the suspects. No description has been released.
Police said it's clear that this was not a random act and the gunmen went to that specific home for a reason.
