CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga Community College entered a partnership with United Negro College Fund. They want to help African-American students earn degrees while keeping them connected with their roots through Historically Black Colleges and Universities, or HBCUs.

JaNice Marshall, Associate Vice President for Access and Community Engagement said that this partnership gives the opportunity for students to explore the options of attending HBCUs.

“This is an opportunity to be more intentional, to help them get to that next level. We formalized the partnership earlier this year, in January. It’s amazing the number of students that are not even aware of what Historically Black Colleges and Universities are,” Marshall said.
