New developments in a cold case in Tremont.

In July 2011, a college student was tied up and murdered in his Tremont apartment. The murder of 21-year-old Brandon Cartellone is still unsolved.

But, newsnet5.com learned and Cleveland police confirmed that US Marshals are now involved in the cold case. They aren't hunting for suspects, but instead helping with the investigation.

"I have said, I'm mother bear and am not giving up," said Lynn Cartellone, Brandon's mother.  She is on a journey for justice for her son. "It is a soul shredding, tearing apart, life changing, horrendous experience," added Cartellone.

Cartellone said there is not a day that passes that she doesn't think of her son. "He was kind, loving, he cared about his family," added Cartellone.

Cleveland police said they are following leads and this case is an open investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 216-252-7463. A reward is being offered.
