WESTLAKE, Ohio — The Westlake Police Department is investigating a series of home burglaries that have occurred in the last week.

There have been five burglaries at unoccupied homes since Jan. 22, most of which have occurred in the west end of the city, police said.

The break-ins have been reported on Lexington Court, Prince Charles Avenue, Inverness Circle, Forest Lake Drive and Royal Woods Place, according to police.

Police said that the break-ins are happening between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. and that the individuals involved have been seen with flashlights walking through backyards.

At this time, police have no one in custody for the burglaries and are still working to develop better descriptions of the individuals involved or an involved vehicle.

While the Westlake Police Department said that the burglaries are occurring in Westlake, the incidents are not isolated to the city and are occurring in surrounding areas as well.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call 440-871-3311. Those who may have images from security cameras at their homes are also asked to call police.
