WESTLAKE, Ohio — A 32-year-old woman was killed early Saturday morning in a car crash in Westlake.
The woman has been identified as Crystal Cieza, of Westlake.
According to police, the crash happened just after 3 a.m. near Detroit and Basset Roads.
Police say Cieza was driving a 2018 Ford Taurus on Detroit Road when the car veered off the road and hit a utility pole on the south side of the intersection.
Firefighters and police responded to the scene.
A 30-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, but police said it appears alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
