Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash in Perkins Township

PERKINS TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in Perkins Township Sunday morning.

Around 8:46 a.m., a 2005 Chevrolet Blazer was driving south on Remington Avenue towards the Perkins Avenue intersection.

The driver of the Chevrolet, later identified as 81-year-old Albert Dantzler, drove through the intersection, went off the south side of the road and struck a building, according to troopers.

Dantzler and his passenger, 43-year-old Kerel Gray, were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

Both Dantzler and Gray were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
