The Erie Metroparks announced that the Osborn branch will be closed Friday due to storm damage.
According to the department, Wednesday's storm caused structural damage, downed utility lines, and downed trees.
The park will reopen to the public with some restricted areas on Saturday at 8 a.m. The perimeter path and playground will reopen, but MetroPark officials urge park visitors to avoid the outlying and trails and wooded areas, as these trails still need to be assessed and cleared. They are barricaded and clearly marked for the safety of guests.
Any residents who encounter storm damage at Osborn or any other Erie MetroPark parks are asked to call 419-625-7783 ext. 221 and leave a detailed message of when, what and where they saw the damage.
