MARGARETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in Margaretta Township Saturday morning.
Around 6 a.m., a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck was driving west on Barrett Road east of Newberry Avenue when it drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree, troopers said.
The driver of the Dodge, later identified as 21-year-old Brian Wilkerson, from Clyde, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
Wilkerson was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said.
Troopers said it is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol are a factor at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
