BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Bainbridge Township Police Department swore in a new officer Friday, a 5-year-old named Carter.

Officer Carter is currently fighting leukemia, so his bravery will come in handy as the station's newest officer.

Bainbridge Township Police welcomed Officer Carter into Bainbridge Township Town Hall where he was sworn into the department.

Officer Carter swore his oath to protect the Bainbridge Township community with his mom alongside him, there to pin his badge on his uniform.

During his first shift with the Bainbridge Township Police Department, Officer Carter is scheduled to meet with his coworkers at the station.

Officer Carter then went on to fight crime around the city, capturing villain Poison Ivy with the help of K-9 officer Ozzie and Sgt. Wiener. Officer Carter successfully placed Poison Ivy under arrest and transported her back to the station for booking, police said.
