A Montville man is dead after his motorcycle hit a deer while he was riding on State Route 44 in Geauga County Sunday evening.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Danny Cole was traveling north on SR 44 near SR 87 just before 10 p.m. when his motorcycle hit a deer that was crossing the road.
The motorcycle overturned and Cole flew off. He was transported to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Cole was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
