Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper severely injured, but doing well after 3-car Geauga County crash

A Trooper was injured in a crash Friday jut before 11 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. 

Authorities reported the crash occurred on US 322 just east of Auburn Road. It involved a police cruiser and one other vehicle.

According to the Geauga County Sheriff's Office, the Trooper made a traffic stop at Auburn Road and Mayfield Road. A car rear-ended the cruiser and pushed it into the car he had stopped, causing a 3-car crash. 

The Trooper was taken to Hillcrest Hospital, authorities said. The Trooper's injuries are severe, but not life-threatening.

The condition of the other driver is currently unknown, officials said.
