The 133-year-old Historical Train Depot in Painesville welcomed visitors to see the progress made on its restoration for Northeast Ohio Historical Day.
On Saturday, the train's history was celebrated with rail-fanning, a model-train flea market and a meet-and-greet with representatives from local historical organizations.
Visitors also watched a time capsule, filled with pieces of the Painesville Depot's history, being buried.
The time capsule groundbreaking also held historic significance, as organizers used shovels from the New York Central Railroad and the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad.
It will stay underground for nearly 50 years before opening on July 4, 2075.
