Painesville police were called to the 900 block of N. State Street Thursday morning after a report of a stabbing involving two teens.
Officers arrived around 11:04 a.m. and found the 15-year-old female victim and the 14-year-old male suspect. The suspect was detained without incident, according to authorities.
Painesville City Fire Rescue provided medical treatment to both teens on scene, and then they were both taken to Tri Point Medical Center, officials said. The victim was then flown to Metro Health Medical Center for additional treatment, according to police.
The 14-year-old suspect was taken to the Lake County Juvenile Detention facility and awaits a hearing.
