PAINESVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A homeless man has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison after he attacked four other homeless people with a hand-held saw in a wooded lot in Painesville Township, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Hodgson, 31, was sentenced to 28 to 32 years on multiple counts of felonious assault.

He was arrested in August after he attacked four homeless people residing in tents in a wooded area on North Ridge Road.

Deputies first responded shortly after midnight after a woman was running in the area covered in blood while yelling for help. It was later discovered Hodgson attacked the victims following a fight.

The woman was among four other victims, three of which were male, who sustained lacerations from the saw. All received near life-threatening injuries from assault, one of which was flown via life flight and lost an eye in the attack.
