The Lake County Sheriff's Office announced Monday the capture of three criminals accused of vandalizing area businesses.

Between Dec. 12 and 13, several businesses along Madison Avenue in Painesville Township were vandalized including Buzzin Barbers, Kuhars Pizza Oven and Daily Freeze.

Similar vandalism was reported at a grocery store and floral shop in Painesville.

While on patrol, Deputy Alan Moon saw a vehicle operating recklessly near Fairgrounds Road. He stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by two 18-year-old men and a 20-year-old woman. He found Christmas lights, which were believed to have been stolen from area homes, in plain view, as well as tools believed to be used in the vandalism along Madison Avenue.

Deputies brought the suspects in for questioning, where they reportedly admitted to being involved in the break-ins. Police believe that, along with the vandalism, the suspects also stole Christmas lights from the Cedar Glen development.

Anyone with information related to these crimes is asked to call the sheriff's office at (440)350-5504.
