PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Lake Metroparks stocked Hidden Lake in Painesville with 1,000 pounds of rainbow trout in order to extend the fall fishing season for Northeast Ohio anglers.

The trout that were released into the lake on Friday are 1.5 pounds or heavier and 12 inches or longer, Lake Metroparks said.

Hidden Lake was also stocked earlier with largemouth bass, channel catfish and minnows, according to Lake Metroparks.

Lake Metroparks said that besides Veterans Park in Mentor, the other 12 ponds they stock do not require a fishing license.

Rainbow trout are fairly easy to catch from a fishing deck and the multiple access points around the pond, making them accessible to fishers of all ages and abilities, Lake Metroparks said.

Hidden Lake is located at 6850 Kniffen Rd.
