A man had to be rescued overnight after he drove off a road and into a river in Willoughby where a bridge once existed.
Willoughby police say the man thought the St. Clair Street bridge was still there over the Chagrin River.
By the time he realized it was done, he had already busted through a snow bank and a guardrail and landed in the frigid water.
He had to be rescued by emergency response crews and was taken to Lake Health West Medical Center for treatment.

Police say he's facing an OVI charge and he's really lucky his SUV didn't flip over.
The SUV was expected to be removed from the river Friday.
