MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio — Mentor-on-the-Lake police are doing something unique when it comes to finding dead deer.
The department is compiling a list of residents who want the deer meat.
The dispatch center will call individuals on the list who agree to pick up the carcass within a couple of hours of its death.
Police said normal temperatures require that the animal be picked up within a few hours of its death, but during frigid temperatures, the meat is good for a couple of days.
If you are interested in getting on the list, call 440-257-7234.
