A hit-skip involving a Painesville fire engine has authorities looking for a damaged vehicle.
According to the fire department, the truck was getting ready to back into the fire station on Mentor Avenue after returning from a call on Thursday, Nov. 9. As the driver activated the truck lights and made the turn to back in, a car hit the truck's passenger side front bumper.
In dash cam video, the firefighters inside the truck can be heard yelling, "woah woah woah!" There is a bang and then the car comes zooming past the truck.
The car that hit the truck did not stop and will have damage on the driver's side, according to firefighters.
Anyone with information who can identify the car and/or the driver is asked to contact the Painesville City Police. The police department's clerk line can also be reached Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 440-392-5840. Central Dispatch can be reached at 440-354-3434.
