Authorities have called off the investigation of the case of an 11-year-old girl who said a woman tried to lure her into a van after it was determined the claim was false.
Police said that on Tuesday the girl told them a woman tried to entice her into getting in a vehicle in the parking lot of her school.
The 11-year-old gave police a specific description of the suspect and police issued a news release seeking information about the incident.
On Thursday, police announced that the claims made by the alleged victim weren't true. Authorities said there is no known threat to the public or any safety concerns.
Police didn't say if the 11-year-old is facing any possible charges.
