What appears to be human remains were found in Madison Township on Tuesday, say authorities. Police searched a wooded area near Bennett Road after they were notified by a resident who said they thought their dog had found the remains and brought them into the yard on Monday.
Officers returned with cadaver dogs and found the rest of the remains on Tuesday.
Authorities say there don't appear to be any signs of foul play. It's not known how old the remains are, but police said they don't believe it was a recent death. Police are asking anyone who knows of any missing persons case that was not reported to come forward with information.
No other details have been released.
