Two Cleveland teenagers are facing charges after they allegedly led police on a high-speed chase in a stolen van.
Wickliffe police said an officer first spotted the van entering the city at a high rate of speed around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
The officer started pursuing the silver Dodge minivan and other patrol cars assisted. Police later learned that the van had also just fled from a Euclid police officer during a traffic stop.
The 16-year-old boys turned onto East 300th Street and then pulled into an apartment parking lot, where they jumped out and ran.
Officers set up a perimeter and captured the boys behind a business on Lakeland Boulevard near Worden Road.
Police said the van had been stolen in Euclid earlier.
The 16-year-old driver faces charges of fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, obstructing official justice, reckless operation and driving without a license. The passenger faces receiving stolen property and obstructing official justice charges.
The stolen van was returned to its owner.
