WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — The Willoughby Hills Fire Department is asking for the public's help to assist a family after their car caught fire on the interstate.

Officials said the car fire happened on I-90 east near State Route 91 in Lake County around 6:30 p.m.

Fire crews arrived and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Officials said a mother and her three children were returning home after buying a twin bed for one of her children from the Facebook Marketplace.

Along with the vehicle, the family lost the bed, two booster seats and a forward facing car seat in the fire.

Officials are asking if anyone would be able to donate those items to the family.

You can message them on their Facebook page.
