One person is dead after a fire at an apartment on Lake Road in Sheffield Lake.
The Sheffield Lake Fire Department responded to The Perch on Lake apartments at 3:23 p.m. to find smoke coming from the first floor apartment.
Firefighters put out the flames in about 10 minutes. During a search of the apartment, crews found an elderly man dead in the living room.
The victim was identified by the coroner as 69-year-old Richard Dull.
According to the coroner, he died from burns and smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
