18-year-old intruder in 'grave condition' after being shot by homeowner in Lorain

LORAIN, Ohio — A Lorain homeowner shot an intruder early Friday morning according to the Lorain Police Department.

Around 12:33 a.m., officers were called to the 1500 block of West 28th Street after a homeowner reported they had shot an intruder, police said.

Once on scene, officers found an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head.

The homeowner told police that there were other people with the intruder that was shot but they fled the scene.

Police said the 18-year-old is currently in “grave condition.”

Another 18-year-old male and a minor were identified as the other intruders and charged with attempted aggravated burglary, according to police.

Additional charges are being considered by the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office, police said.
