Authorities in Flint, Michigan arrested a man Tuesday wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and Elyria police for domestic violence and unlawful restraint.
27-year-old Malcolm Thomas allegedly tied up his girlfriend and assaulted her by repeatedly punching her in the face at an apartment in the 200 block of Brunswick Drive in Elyria in August 2015, police said.
Police said he also attempted to light her on fire by using a lighter and a can of hairspray.
Thomas was also wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for parole violations.
Thomas was profiled as a fugitive of the week in September 2015 and was added to the U.S. Marshals “Dangerous Dozen list in early January 2015.
A tip received late Tuesday led to his arrests police said.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said “without our partnership with the media and the community, this capture would not have been possible.”
