A Lorain man was arrested for violating his parole on a rape charge, found living in the woods behind a North Ridgeville elementary school.
52-year-old Earl Eddington of Lorain had failed to report as a sexual predator after being convicted of rape. His victim was less than 13 years old, according to North Ridgeville police.
Lorain County Sheriff's deputies were working with the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and tracked him to Lear North Elementary School in North Ridgeville. They discovered Eddington in the woods behind the school and found a primitive campsite. Officials believe he had probably been in the woods for some time.
Eddington's campsite provided a view of the back of the school and playground area. Police believe that due to the length of time he was in the woods, it's possible that he may have had contact with children who were playing at the school throughout the summer.
The police are asking parents to ask their children if they had any contact with Eddington, and if so to contact the North Ridgeville police at 440-327-2191
