A man was struck and killed while walking his dog across State Route 18 Monday night.
According to the Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Michael Richley was crossing State Route 18 around 5:25 p.m. with his dog, directly in front of his driveway when he was struck by 30-year-old Ray Hughes of Berlin Heights, Ohio. Hughes was driving eastbound on State Route 18.
Richley was pronounced dead at the scene and Hughes was uninjured. Troopers say that speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
The incident is still under investigation.
