ELYRIA, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Elyria.
The accident happened on Island Road around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.
Jeffrey Joniec, 52, was driving his 2014 Chevrolet van south on Island Road, when it veered off to the left of the road and struck a ditch.
Joniec was unresponsive when crews arrived.
Troopers said he may have driven his vehicle off the road due to a medical condition.
The van sustained minor damage.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have played a role in this crash.
