The Ohio State Highway Patrol Elyria Post is investigating a two vehicle crash from Tuesday that left one person dead.
According to authorities, Memory Babies, 58, of Lorain, was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Astro van going east on North Ridge Road near Beatz Court. Genevieve Perkins, 71, of Elyria, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu going west on North Ridge Road in the left lane.
The Chevrolet Astro van driver went left of center and hit the 1998 Chevrolet Malibu head-on, officials reported.
Babies was taken to Cleveland Metro with serious injuries. She was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash, officials said.
Authorities said Perkins was taken by medical helicopter to Cleveland Metro where she later died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
