ELYRIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on West Ridge Road near Stang Road in Elyria Township Sunday morning.
Around 8:48 a.m., a 2006 Saturn Ion was driving north on West Ridge Road when it traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch and a culvert before overturning, troopers said.
The driver of the Saturn, later identified as 61-year-old Laurie Boggs, of Grafton Township, was ejected from the car before the vehicle struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
Boggs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
