SHARON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 2-year-old boy was killed in a crash that occurred on state Route 18 in Medina County Sunday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Around 8:11 p.m., a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu had become disabled in the eastbound lanes of SR 18 and was partially in the right lane when it was struck from behind by a 2009 Jeep Liberty, troopers said.
The 19-year-old driver of the Malibu and the 17-year-old old front passenger of the Malibu were transported to Akron General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A two-year-old boy who was a rear passenger in the vehicle was transported to Medina Hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to troopers.
The 25-year-old driver the the Jeep was transported to Akron General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A juvenile passenger died as a result of their injuries, according to troopers.
The crash remains under investigation.
