Spencer Twp. fatal crash investigated by Medina

A fatal crash in Medina is being investigated, according to officials.

On Wednesday, the Medina post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a two vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 301 and New London Eastern Road.

Around 8 p.m., a 2005 Ford F-350, driven by Allen R. Bugg, 57, traveled west on New London Eastern Road until it ran through a stop sign and struck a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix that was traveling south on SR 301, authorities reported.  The Pontiac then ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Officials said the driver of the Pontiac, identified as 55-year-old Randolph Albert Stiles, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The passenger of the Pontiac, identified as 48-year-old Lisa Wright, was taken to Akron City Hospital by medical helicopter.

Bugg and his passenger, identified as 56-year-old Lois Bugg, were taken to Lodi General Hospital. Lois Bugg was then transported to Akron General Hospital by medical helicopter.

Alcohol was suspected as a contributing factor in the crash, according to officials.
