Medina County fire departments to light up red to honor firefighters killed in line of duty

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — The Medina County Fire Department is holding a “Light the Night” event to honor firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

“Light the Night” will run from Sept. 27 until Oct. 4 during the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

During the event, fire departments will light up their stations red to honor fallen firefighters. Residents are asked to light their homes and businesses in red to show support as well.

The following departments are participating in the event:

  • Brunswick Division of Fire
  • Brunswick Hills Township Fire Department
  • Lodi Fire Department
  • Seville-Guilford Fire Department
  • Spencer Community Fire District
  • Erhart Fire Rescue
  • City of Medina Fire Department
  • Wadsworth Fire Department
  • Valley City Fire Department
  • Hinckley Township Fire Department
  • Westfield Fire-Rescue
  • Lafayette Township Fire Rescue
  • Litchfield Fire Department
  • Granger Township Fire Department
  • Sharon Township Fire Rescue
