BRUNSWICK, Ohio — A 33-year-old man from Medina was arrested after leading state troopers on a chase down I-71 before losing control of his vehicle resulting in a rollover crash near State Route 303 Wednesday.

The driver, a 33-year-old Medina man, was charged with failure to comply, OVI, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug abuse instruments.

Sgt. Ray Santiago, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said at around 12:37 a.m. state troopers initiated a traffic stop with a 2018 Alfa Romero Giulia traveling north on I-71, near State Route 3 for a speed violation.

The driver continued north at a high rate of speed and attempted to exit the highway at State Route 303 but lost control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn multiple times, according to Santiago.

Troopers were able to remove the driver from the vehicle. EMS transported him to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was released and taken to the Medina County Jail.
