BRUNSWICK HILLS, Ohio — A 55-year-old motorcycle rider died Friday night after striking a deer on Grafton Road in Brunswick Hills, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The rider has been identified as Laurence Bogner, of Hinckley, authorities said.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Grafton Road near North Carpenter Road.

According to OSHP, Bogner was traveling eastbound when a deer entered the roadway and the two collided. Bogner was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained a head injury.

Bogner was transported to a nearby hospital and then life-flighted to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

Authorities said Bogner was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
