MEDINA, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in Medina early Monday morning.
Around 1:17 a.m., a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck was driving east on state Route 18 near Windfall Road. The Nissan drove left of center and off the left side of the roadway before it struck a utility pole and a tree, troopers said.
The driver of the Nissan, 46-year-old William Lagrand, from Akron, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medina County Coroners Office, according to troopers.
Troopers said that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
