BRIMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in Brimfield Township Monday evening.
Around 6:25 p.m. troopers were called to a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Old Forge Road and Sunnybrook Road.
A 2018 Honda CR-V was turning left onto Sunnybrook Road northbound when it was struck by a 1980 Yamaha motorcycle that was headed westbound on Old Forge Road, according to troopers.
The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to Akron City Hospital, troopers said.
Tyler Jagiela, 23, from Akron was driving the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, according to troopers.
The 22-year-old passenger from Akron sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive, troopers said.
Authorities said the 33-year-old driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.
